watch this space for new dates

We will walk you through how to naturally dye fabrics and yarn using locally sourced colour and food waste sourced from local surrounds.
Starting with a comprehensive explanation of preparing fibres, mordanting and dyeing we will work together as a group to create unique sample books of our collected colour.

We will be working with locally foraged vegetal matter and foliage.

we will provide you with:

samples fabrics
notebooks for samples
technical file data sheets
all dyes and info
with additional items will be available to purchase

you will leave with:
a solid foundation in natural dye, ideas on how to utilise food waste, an understanding of mordants and how to dye your own yarns, fabrics and clothes
a journal full of dye samples

2 day (optional)

the second day of this foundation natural dye workshop we will delve deeper and will cover modifiers to alter colours, we will experiment with additional ways to create pattern with options to try natural bleaching techniques, simple shibori and some paste resists.
